The HSPH school-wide EcoOpportunity Team strives to institutionalize campus sustainability by participating in the following types of campaigns and actions:
- EcoOpportunity Representatives serve as the primary departmental points of communication for sustainability efforts on campus.
- As a group, the EcoOpportunity Team meets monthly to identify opportunities for resource and energy conservation in classroom, laboratory, and office areas and to communicate about potential opportunities with HSPH Operations.
- Representatives lead Green Office Certification efforts on a departmental level. To date, three HSPH offices have achieved Leaf 1 Green Office Certification: Epidemiology, Human Resources, and the Office for Educational Programs.
- Since HSPH began its school-wide composting program in May 2008, HSPH Representatives have served as “Composting Ambassadors” in the cafeteria during the beginning of each new academic year.
- The team inspires the HSPH community reduce environmental and health impacts by promoting efforts such as the annual “Take the Stairs” Competition.
