Dear PRISE students,
As announced at this week’s Environmental Jeopardy studybreak, the FAS Green Labs Program has partnered with PRISE to promote sustainable research practices in the labs, through the PRISE Green Challenge. The FAS Lab Sustainability Reps will be available on Tuesday nights at dinner to answer any questions and provide advice for pursuing sustainable projects.

GOALS
- We hope that you will grow comfortable evaluating the practices in your lab for continuous improvement, and will be empowered to ask questions and make suggestions.
- We hope that your actions will raise the level of awareness within each of your labs.
- We hope that this challenge will provide a forum for exchange of resource-efficient, research-enhancing ideas and practices.
TIMELINE
- Sign up: June 26
- Final submissions due: July 25
PRIZES
There will be separate prizes for individuals (top 3) and for teams (top 3)*. The prizes will be gift certificates to local restaurants or grocery stores of your choice, such as:
- Grendel’s
- Veggie Planet
- Chipotle
- Felipe’s
- Noch’s
- Etc…
The value of the prizes will be as follows:

So if the first place team has five members, those five members will receive a $100 gift certificate to a restaurant of their choosing, which may be split into several smaller gift certificates of the same value on request.

*Strategy – individuals may join or defect from teams as they wish depending on whether they think they have a better chance of winning in the individual or team competition, and depending on how loyal they are. Approval from a team captain is required to join a team. To switch team/individual status, email Philip_Kreycik@harvard.edu. After July 19th, you cannot join or leave a team.
