When you’re working away in your dorm or office trying to implement sustainability initiatives, it can often feel overwhelming.  It shouldn’t be that way, especially when there are so many impassioned students, staff and faculty throughout Harvard dedicated to making Green the new Crimson!

If you thought a yard sale was a great place to find a bargain, try a yard swap.

Through their collaboration, Harvard Law School Restaurant Associates (RA) and the HLS Sustainability Program took what might have been a disastrous summer for dining waste and translated it into an opportunity to introduce HLS to front-of-the-house composting. 

On Friday, February 12th Law School staff, students, and faculty swapped items from home in a Valentine's Freecycle sponsored by the HLS Green Team. Between 10am and 12pm, individuals dropped by a classroom in Pound Hall with bags and boxes of books, movies, housewares, office and arts supplies, clothes, toys, electronics, and more.

The HLS Green Living Blog, "Sustained!" continues to expand: check out recent posts about double sided printing in Langdell, yummy vegan cupcakes, organic farm shares, and an upcoming film screening. Reps are also soliciting feedback as planning for the HLS Earth Day fair gets underway- be sure to leave a comment!
